MERCI Zapatto, pour ce mp3 rare et unique;
OL' MAN RIVER - tiré de la comédie musicale SHOW BOAT (Oscar Hammerstein II and Jerome Kern)
There’s an old man called the Mississippi, There’s the Old Man that I’d like to be. What does he care if the world’s got troubles What does he care if the land ain’t free
Ol' man river, Dat ol' man river He mus'know sumpin' But don't say nuthin', He jes'keeps rollin' He keeps on rollin' along.
He don' plant taters/tators, He don't plant cotton, An' dem dat plants'em is soon forgotten, But ol'man river, He jes keeps rollin'along.
You an'me, we sweat an' strain, Body all achin' an' racket wid pain, Tote dat barge! Lif' dat bale! Git a little drunk An' you land in jail.
Ah gits weary An' sick of tryin' Ah'm tired of livin' An' skeered of dyin', But ol' man river, He jes'keeps rolling' along.
[Colored folks work on de Mississippi, Colored folks work while de white folks play, Pullin' dose boats from de dawn to sunset, Gittin' no rest till de judgement day. or musical part]
Don't look up An' don't look down, You don' dast make De white boss frown. Bend your knees An'bow your head, An' pull date rope Until you' dead.)
Let me go 'way from the Mississippi, Let me go 'way from de white man boss; Show me dat stream called de river Jordan, Dat's de ol' stream dat I long to cross.
O' man river, Dat ol' man river, He mus'know sumpin' But don't say nuthin' He jes' keeps rollin' He keeps on rollin' along.
Long ol' river forever keeps rollin' on...
He don' plant tater, He don' plant cotton, An' dem dat plants 'em Is soon forgotten, but ol' man river, He jes' keeps rollin' along.
Long ol' river keeps hearing dat song. You an' me, we sweat an' strain, Body all achin an' racked wid pain. Tote dat barge! Lif' dat bale! Git a little drunk An' you land in jail.
Ah, gits weary An' sick of tryin' Ah'm tired of livin' An' skeered of dyin', But ol' man river, He jes'keeps rollin' along!

Voici (à quelque chose près) les paroles chantées par JT Si quelqu'un comprend la fin, je suis preneur.....
There's an old man called the Mississippi That's the old man who I'd like to be! What does he care if the world's got troubles? What does he care if the land ain't free?
Old man river, That old man river He must know somthin' But he don't say nothin', He keeps on rollin' He just keeps rollin' along.
He don't plant taters, He don't plant cotton, Yes and them what plants them Well they’re soon forgotten, He keeps on rollin'. Yes he just keeps rollin'along.
Now you and me, we’re all the same, Bodies all achin' and racked with pain, Tote that barge! Lift that bale! You get a little drunk And you land in jail.
I get weary And sick of tryin' I'm tired of livin' And I’m scared of dyin', But old man river, He just keeps rolling' along.
Don't look up Don't look down, Don’t you dare make The boss man frown. Bend your knees And bow your head, Pull down that rope Man until you’re dead.
I get weary And sick of tryin' I'm tired of livin' But scared of dyin', But old man river, Keeps on rolling', Old man river, Keeps on rolling', .............. Keeps on rolling' along.
