Hello fellow CAJTers,

I’m just curious to know how all of you fell in love with JT. As far as I’m concerned, my husband offered me one of JT’s CDs for my birthday. I knew that my hubby was pretty “careful” with money, but, it really upset me. When I heard the songs, it knocked me off my feet !!!! It’s the most valuable present that was given to me. I put in in a frame and I have it in my living room.

How about you?

Susan.

Dearest Susan,

It’s strange, my love for JT’s music started in painful circumstances. It was a few months ago. Yup, I’m a new fan. I had a very serious surgery and I was lying there miserable and down and out in a hospital bed. My horizons seemed pretty dark. Then, a very close friend of mine sent me “You’ve got a friend”. It helped me cry out my pain. But, damn, was it good to cry!!

Since then, I’m the CAJT’s official bugger.

Well, my elder son is a Lovett's fan. I'm rather into oldies-but-goodies singers such as Willie Nelson and Johhny Cash. My grand-children prefer Garth Brooks, Clint Black and Keith Urban.

P.S: I hope that my Lilly is doing better.

Hello Susan,

What was this album your husband offered you? And when?

I was a Cat Stevens and a Neil Young's fan when my sister bought "Mud Slide Slim". I didn't like JT too much when I first heard him but finally with songs as "You can close your eyes" and "Soldiers", he became slowly but surely one of my hero. Thirty years later, he still is.

You know, JT is also a hero for Garth Brooks, Keith Urban and the Dixie Chicks!!!!!

Another question, what state are you from?

First off Jean Pierre, do I need a lawyer? Just kiddin' !!

Well, I first saw JT, it was in 1970, in Houston. I was in college and he performed there. He sang four songs and we were sitting at his feet. I found him cute. He left with this dumb petite blonde and I thought he had such a bad taste!! So,I decided not to be interested in him.
But when my hubby offered me "Sweet baby James" in 1972, it brought all that back. I'm from Texas but I've been wandering since my hubby is a military.
