Ne pas oublier une chanteuse sous-estimée du public et qui m'a donné une véritable claque en 1995 lors du showcase de son premier disque "Relish" ( et son méga tube "Just One of Us") au Café de la danse: JOAN OSBORNE. Elle possède une voix puissante et habitée qu'elle sait très bien retenir pour meiux faire passer l'émotion.

Les disques suivants de cette fan de Billie Holiday, Etta James et Ray Charles n'ont pas eu le succès escompté. Mais ils sont cependant de très grande qualité ( notamment son disque de 2002 "How sweet it is" un recueil de reprises inteprétées de manière très personelle!!)

Joan a depuis étudié le chant avec Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan et chanté avec: Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan, Melissa Etheridge, Taj Mahal, Luciano Pavarotti, Spearhead et the Chieftains.

A noter la participation de la dame: pour deux reprises exceptionnelles de deux tubes de la Motown ( "Heat Wave" et "What Becomes of the Brokenhearted") pour le documentaire de 2002 "Standing in the Shadows of Motown", sur plusieurs morceaux des deux derniers albums des fabuleux Holmes Brothers (dont elle produit certaines plages) ainsi que son duo avec Issac Hayes "I'm Just a Bill" pour l'album "Schoolhouse Rocks the Vote!" (1998) et celui avec Jackson Browne "My Black Pages" pour la bande-son du film "Steal this Movie".
